The high prevalence of infectious diseases in Indonesia causes the use of antibiotics to increase. Improper
use of antibiotics can put you at risk for antibiotic resistance. This study aims to determine the percentage of
use of restriction antibiotics in patients with acute appendicitis, kidney stones and minor head injury (CKR)
in the surgical ward of H. Abdul Manap Regional General Hospital, Jambi City for the period 2017 - 2019.
This study is an observational study analyzed descriptively by retrospective data collection on the medical
records of patients with acute appendices, kidney stones and CKR who received antibiotic therapy according
to the inclusion criteria. The results of this study indicate that from 117 patients, 36 samples met the
inclusion criteria. The highest percentage of restriction antibiotic use was ciprofloxacin (21.3%) while
levofloxacin (9.4%). Percentage of restriction antibiotics in acute appendix diagnoses, namely (29%) in
2017, (28%) in 2018 and (31%) in 2019 patients, for kidney stone diagnoses (42%) in 2017, (54%) in 2018
and ( 50%) in 2019, while the diagnosis of CKR (22%) in 2017, (16%) in 2018 and (18%) in 2020. Based on
these results it can be concluded that the most antibiotic use is ciprofloxacin 21.3%, the percentage of
restriction antibiotic use in Diagnosis of acute appendix, kidney stones and CKR increased and decreased.
