Overview of Asthma Control Levels in Asthma Patients at the Pulmonary Polyclinic of Kediri District Hospital

Asthma is a chronic inflammation that causes the respiratory tract to become hyperresponsive, causing periodic symptoms such as shortness of breath, wheezing, chest tightness, and repeated coughing. This study aims to determine the level of asthma control in asthma patients at the Lung Polyclinic of Kediri District Hospital. This type of research is descriptive quantitative with a purposive sampling technique. This study was conducted at the Lung Polyclinic of Kediri District Hospital with a total of 35 respondents. Descriptive data analysis used the percentage of each question in the asthma control test questionnaire. The results of the study with the most gender were female 22 (62.86%), age 35-44 years 14 (40%), high school education 16 (45.71%), housewife occupation 13 (37.14%), and a history of asthma > 10 years 13 (37.14%). The drugs given were a mixture of salbutamol, codeine, theophylline, and methylprednisolone as many as 25 (71.4%); salbutamol, codeine, theophylline, methylprednisolone, and seretide inhalation 5 (14.3%); and salbutamol, codeine, theophylline, methylprednisolone, and berotec inhalation 5 (14.3%). The results of the asthma control test questionnaire, obtained respondents who were well controlled 16 (45.71%), partially controlled 17 (48.57%), and uncontrolled 2 (5.72%). Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that the level of asthma control in asthma patients at the Lung Polyclinic of Kediri District Hospital is partially controlled.
